The process of the MLLS traverses what are referred to as the “Eight Domains” of experience:
Mind (Cognitive)
Body (Somatic)
Emotions (Emotive)
Spirit (Spiritual)
Social Environment (Interpersonal)
Physical Environment (Environmental)
Awareness (Conscious)
Action (Proactive)
Each of these is explored:
-
As a distinct locus of human experience
-
In both an active and a receptive dimension
-
In its inherent inter-relationship to all of the other domains.
Exploring the Eight Domains in this way creates a unique kind of transformational momentum. This is always done practically, real-time, in the midst of each participant’s unique life circumstances.
Additionally, ongoing research into the efficacy of various components within the Live and Lead practicum is being conducted by University of California researchers, in order to keep the program fluid, dynamic and responsive.
This process is designed to continually optimize effectiveness of the program in ways that are empirically informed and results-driven.
